Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Group (MBCT):
This is an 8 week group of 2 hour sessions each.  The group focuses on mindfulness based therapy for treating mild depression and stress related conditions.

MBCT was created out of the renowned MBSR program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn at the University of Massachusetts over 25 years ago.  It was modified 8 years ago by Dr.'s Zindel Segal, Mark Williams, and John Teasdale to bring a focus onto long-term depression.   MBCT can bring you relief from the powerful negative thoughts that are so destructive in depression, stress, and anxiety.  MBCT can bring lasting change in the way you relate to your life, as well as improved self-worth, and an increased ability to cope with difficult feelings and stress.

The basic elements of MBCT are the practice of mindfulness (such as meditation and yoga) and using cognitive-therapy strategies to change the way you relate to your negative thinking.

*A free screening phone consultation is required, to answer your questions and help determine if this would be a good fit for you.
